{"id":8182,"date":"2019-02-21T21:33:47","date_gmt":"2019-02-21T21:33:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/traildellestreghe.com\/regolamento-gara\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T12:08:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T11:08:16","slug":"regolamento-gara","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/traildellestreghe.com\/en\/regolamento-gara\/","title":{"rendered":"Race Regulations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>ART. 1 \u2013 PARTICIPATION<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All athletes who are at least <strong>18 years<\/strong> of age may take part in the competition, provided they hold a valid <strong>competitive sports medical certificate<\/strong> \u2013 for \u201ccompetitive\u201d races (B1 protocol) \u2013 valid on the date of the event, for the disciplines of Athletics or Triathlon, <strong data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"736\">or a duly signed waiver of liability \u2013 for \u201cnon-competitive\u201d races<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Participation implies full and unconditional acceptance of these regulations and of all instructions provided by the Organization.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Participation Categories<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Registered Athletes:<\/strong><br \/>\nAthletes holding an Italian competitive medical certificate (B1) and one of the following valid memberships may register:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FIDAL<\/li>\n<li>FIDAL Runcard EPS<\/li>\n<li>FIDAL Runcard Trail<\/li>\n<li>FIDAL Runcard Nordic Walking<\/li>\n<li>FITRI<\/li>\n<li>FIDAL Runcard<br \/>\nor a valid <strong>foreign Athletics (IAAF\/ITRA)<\/strong> or <strong>Triathlon (ITU)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Non-Registered Athletes:<\/strong><br \/>\nThose without any membership may register as <em>non-affiliated<\/em>. The Organization will provide <strong>ACSI Athletics membership<\/strong>, with an additional <strong>\u20ac5.00 fee<\/strong> added to the registration cost.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foreign Non-Registered Athletes (Tourist\/Sport mode):<\/strong><br \/>\nForeign athletes participating exclusively in <em>Tourist\/Sport<\/em> mode will be insured by the Organization upon signing a waiver.<br \/>\nThey will have access to all event services but will <strong>not appear in official rankings<\/strong> and will <strong>not be eligible for prizes<\/strong> in money or goods.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Athlete Responsibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>By registering, each participant declares under his\/her own responsibility to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be physically fit for sports activities;<\/li>\n<li>be in good health;<\/li>\n<li>release the Organization from any civil or criminal liability arising from participation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For <strong>competitive races<\/strong> (Marathon, Race and Cronoscalinata Bergeggina), a valid medical certificate is <strong>mandatory<\/strong>.<br \/>\nFor <strong>non-competitive races<\/strong> (Speed and Walk), no certificate is required, but participants must <strong>sign a liability waiver<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 2 \u2013 LOCATION AND PROGRAM<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>THE GULF OF THE ISLAND TRAIL<\/strong> takes place across the municipalities of <strong>Bergeggi, Noli, Spotorno, and Vezzi Portio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Race Village<\/strong> alternates as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spotorno<\/strong> in even years<\/li>\n<li><strong>Noli<\/strong> in odd years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Program<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Saturday \u2013 Cronoscalinata Bergeggina<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Distance: 2 km<\/li>\n<li>Elevation gain: 295 m D+<\/li>\n<li>Start: at 5:00 PM from <strong>Bagni Stella Maris<\/strong>, along <strong>Via Aurelia<\/strong> (meeting point and bib pickup at the race village).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sunday \u2013 Main Races<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Individual Walk:<\/strong> 5 km \u2013 300 D+ (non-competitive, free pace)<\/li>\n<li><strong>SPEED:<\/strong> 9 km \u2013 500 D+ (non-competitive)<\/li>\n<li><strong>RACE:<\/strong> 16 km \u2013 1000 D+ (competitive)<\/li>\n<li><strong>MARATHON:<\/strong> 44 km \u2013 1915 D+ (competitive)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Start Times (from Race Village):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marathon: 8:30 a.m.<\/li>\n<li>Race: 8:45 a.m.<\/li>\n<li>Speed: 9:00 a.m.<\/li>\n<li>Walk: 9:00 a.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>RACE<\/strong> and <strong>MARATHON<\/strong> are part of the <strong>ITRA<\/strong> and <strong>UTMB<\/strong> calendars and will have <strong>official rankings<\/strong>.<br \/>\nA <strong>non-official ranking<\/strong> will also be drawn up for the 9K race.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 3 \u2013 COURSES<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The main courses (Marathon and Race) develop along dirt trails with start and finish at the Race Village.<br \/>\nThey will be clearly marked with <strong>flags and dedicated signs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Staff members will be present along the route, easily identifiable by \u201cSTAFF\u201d shirts. Participants must <strong>strictly follow the marked course<\/strong>; taking shortcuts will result in disqualification.<\/p>\n<p>Safety is guaranteed <strong>only on the official route<\/strong>. Runners are encouraged to inspect the course before the race.<\/p>\n<p>The route requires experience on mountain terrain (trails, rocky or uneven surfaces, steep sections).<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>topographic map<\/strong> and <strong>GPS track<\/strong> will be available on the official website and must be downloaded before the race.<\/p>\n<p>Medical assistance points will be set up along the route.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 4 \u2013 EQUIPMENT<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Recommended for all athletes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Water reserve<\/li>\n<li>Energy bar and\/or gel<\/li>\n<li>Windproof jacket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Mandatory (Marathon and Race)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobile phone (charged, with the Organization\u2019s emergency number saved and caller ID visible)<\/li>\n<li>Personal cup (no cups or bottles provided at refreshment points)<\/li>\n<li>Bib number worn visibly on chest or abdomen<\/li>\n<li>Windproof jacket (in case of bad weather)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Checks:<\/strong> equipment may be inspected before or during the race. Any infraction will result in <strong>disqualification or a 3-minute penalty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 5 \u2013 TIME BARRIERS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>MARATHON:<\/strong> maximum time 9 hours<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Km 20 \u2013 Colla di Magnone: 4h30<\/li>\n<li>Km 31 \u2013 Loc. San Lazzaro: 7h00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>RACE:<\/strong> maximum time 5 hours<\/p>\n<p>Athletes who do not respect the time barriers will be excluded.<br \/>\nIf exclusion is not due to physical reasons, the athlete must return along the same course.<br \/>\nIn case of physical distress, the Organization will assist and accompany the athlete to safety.<\/p>\n<p>Medical staff may, at their sole discretion, <strong>stop any athlete deemed unfit<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 6 \u2013 WITHDRAWALS AND RETURNS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Athletes withdrawing from the race must inform the <strong>nearest checkpoint<\/strong> or wait for the <strong>sweeper service<\/strong>.<br \/>\nReturn must occur along the marked route.<br \/>\nFailure to notify a withdrawal may result in the <strong>athlete being charged for search and rescue costs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 7 \u2013 REFRESHMENTS AND ASSISTANCE<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Refreshment stations will be located approximately every <strong>7\u201310 km<\/strong>.<br \/>\nExternal assistance or private refreshments are <strong>strictly prohibited<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Participants must respect environmental rules: <strong>no littering<\/strong>, and all waste must be carried to the finish area.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 8 \u2013 COURSE MODIFICATIONS AND CANCELLATION<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Organization reserves the right to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>modify routes, aid stations, or start times;<\/li>\n<li>suspend or cancel the race due to severe weather or safety concerns;<\/li>\n<li>determine rankings based on the last valid checkpoint in case of interruption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>ART. 9 \u2013 TRAIL ETHICS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Trail running is based on shared values:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Respect for oneself and others<\/strong> \u2013 honesty, sportsmanship, and mutual help.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Respect for volunteers<\/strong>, who contribute with passion and dedication.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Respect for nature<\/strong> \u2013 protect flora and fauna, follow marked paths, and do not litter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Solidarity and sharing<\/strong> \u2013 every participant contributes to the success of the event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>ART. 10 \u2013 LIABILITY<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Participants release the Organization from any liability for injuries, damages, theft, or expenses related to participation.<br \/>\nBy signing the waiver, the athlete acknowledges having read and accepted all clauses in accordance with Articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 11 \u2013 REGISTRATIONS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Registrations must be completed exclusively online at <strong>endu.net<\/strong> by <strong>Monday, April 13 at 11:59 p.m.<\/strong>, or until the maximum number of participants is reached.<\/p>\n<p>Any remaining bibs may be purchased on-site on race day.<br \/>\nThe Organization reserves the right to increase the participant limit or assign <strong>wild cards<\/strong> at its sole discretion.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ART. 12 \u2013 REGISTRATION FEES<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Registration fees vary according to the race category and registration period.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>competitive races<\/strong>, a valid <strong>competitive medical certificate (B1)<\/strong> is required.<br \/>\nFor <strong>non-affiliated Italian athletes<\/strong>, an <strong>ACSI Athletics membership<\/strong> is mandatory, with an additional <strong>\u20ac5.00<\/strong> fee.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>non-competitive races<\/strong>, no medical certificate is required; participants must simply <strong>sign a liability waiver<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>RACE<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>TYPE<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>FEE<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>NOTES<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Cronoscalinata Bergeggina<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Competitive<\/td>\n<td>\u20ac20 (first rate)<br \/>\n\u20ac25 (second rate)<\/td>\n<td>Medical certificate required. \u20ac5.00 ACSI supplement for non-affiliated Italian athletes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Walk 5K<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Non-competitive<\/td>\n<td>\u20ac15 (flat rate)<\/td>\n<td>No medical certificate required.
